Realizing the need for an insurance agency that could provide coverage solutions for all types of insurance, Blackstone Insurance was founded in 1982 by Loren Blackstone. The agency’s continued goal is to build and maintain trusted relationships with all clients.

Excellent administration and management of commercial and personal insurance programs have advanced Blackstone Insurance to a position of leadership in the North Central Ohio marketplace. Headquartered in Lexington, Ohio, Blackstone Insurance represents several regional and national carriers to meet each client’s need for business, commercial, auto, home, and life insurance. Dedicated to the community and to the integrity of the insurance profession, Blackstone Insurance participates in the Ohio Insurance Agents’ Association. Additionally, the agency lends support to area school athletic programs and the Morrow County Fair.

Our Team
Jake Blackstone – President
Jake was raised in Lexington and is a graduate of Lexington High School. He graduated from Bowling Green State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business. Jake joined Blackstone Insurance Agency after graduation and gained extensive experience in commercial and farm insurance. He also has three years’ experience in the building trades, giving knowledge of the daily operations of contractors.
Experience with bid and license bonds complement his expertise in commercial insurance. Years of experience in farm and agri-business insurance round out his overall capability. Jake can help you with all your insurance needs and make sure your business and personal assets are properly protected.
Loren Blackstone – Vice President
Loren founded Blackstone Insurance Agency in 1982. Loren attended Ohio University, served in The United States Army, and was a trooper for Ohio State Highway Patrol. During these experiences, helping people in times of personal injury and property damage increased his interest in the insurance industry. It was obvious that during adverse times, the insurance company was all that prevented financial peril.
Commercial business, farm, and agri-business are Loren’s areas of concentration. Asset protection is very important for these professionals who have invested a lifetime in their work. Some rewarding aspects of his profession are when an insured is named in a lawsuit or a victim of a fire and Loren can say, “Working together we have covered all the bases. Get your focus back on your business or farm and let your insurer do the job.”
Kyle Babcock – Treasurer/Secretary
Originally from West Lafayette, Ohio, Kyle is a graduate from Ridgewood High School and Wilmington College, with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business Administration and a minor in Accounting. Kyle started with Blackstone Insurance in 2015.
Kyle and his wife, Amyleigh, live in Bellville with their children, Olivia and Cooper. Kyle enjoys spending time with family and friends. He is active in the community, being involved with the Clear Fork Valley Chamber of Commerce and Hilltop Community Church.
Andrea Johnson – Agent
Andrea Johnson is a graduate of Shelby Senior High School with an Associate’s Degree in Accounting. Andrea has been with Blackstone Insurance Agency since October 2013 and has been a licensed Property and Casualty Agent since March 2014. She obtained her Certified Insurance Counselor designation in April 2019.
Andrea looks forward to continuing to learn and grow to better serve clients at Blackstone Insurance.
